TWO men were injured when they were attacked with a bottle and a plank of wood.
Police say the men were hit in Station Road, in Bishop’s Stortford, on Friday, July 18.
A police spokesman said that at about 10.20pm it is believed that two men and a woman were walking along Station Road, passed the Rose and Crown pub, when they came across a group of men.
A verbal altercation followed resulting in two men being assaulted with what is believed to be a bottle and piece of wood.
A 22-year-old Bishop’s Stortford man suffered cuts to his ear and face and a 24-year-old man, from Bishop’s Stortford, received cuts to his lip and elbow.
Both were treated at Princess Alexandra Hospital, in Harlow.
Detective Constable Fiona Curson, from the eastern area crime group, said: “This was a nasty and apparently unprovoked attack. We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen the incident to contact police.”
