A FIRE which ripped through a Harlow chemists is being treated as suspicious.
Two Harlow fire crews spent nearly two hours tackling the blaze which is thought to have started shortly before 1am on Wednesday (July 23) in an outside wheelie bin before spreading to the store room of the shop in Prentice Place.
Fire-fighters donned breathing apparatus to enter the heavily smoke-logged building and stop the fire spreading to the nearby Red Lion pub, on Potter Street.
Harlow Fire Station Officer Trevor Fuller, who attended the incident, said: "It spread to the store room and there was quite a bit of damage to drug supplies and files and records. We are treating it as suspicious."
An investigation is being carried out to establish the cause of the blaze.
