THE views of local people are being sought as attempts are made to “cast a vision for the future” of Bishop’s Stortford.
Bishop’s Stortford Town Council and East Herts District Council are working together under the heading of Bishop’s Stortford 2020.
The aim is to gather the opinions of all the residents of the town on a wide range of issues.
A questionnaire is being launched at the end of the month (September) with versions available both on paper and online.
Town councillor John Barfoot said: “We want to get as large a response as possible and, in this internet age, being on-line will encourage many more people to take part.
“We especially want to hear from young people. The future belongs to them and so we’ve invited all the local schools to take part as a part of an IT or citizenship lesson.”
Once the information has been collated, focus groups will be set up to establish a vision for the future of the town based on the views expressed.
Mr Barfoot said: “I would urge everybody in Bishop’s Stortford to take part in this survey. The more people who respond the more authoritative the survey will be.”
The online questionnaire will be available at www.stort.co.uk from October 1.
