A FIFTH man has been arrested by police in connection with the murder of a father and son and another man at a house in Plaw Hatch Close, Bishop's Stortford.

A police spokesman said the man, aged in his 40s, was arrested at an address in Northwood, London, last night (Monday) and would be questioned on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Detectives have been given more time to question a man, aged in his 20s, who was arrested at Heathrow Airport and are also still questioning a man, aged in his 30s, who was arrested in London on Monday.

Two men who were arrested at an address in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, last Thursday have been released on police bail pending further investigations.

They were being held on suspicion of murder.

The arrests follow the shooting of Keith Cowell, 52, and his son, Matthew, 17, at their home in Plaw Hatch Close, Bishop's Stortford, last Tuesday evening.

Tony Dulieu, 33, from Billericay, was also shot dead.

Two women in the house were also seriously injured. One is reported to have been shot and the other stabbed.

A three-year-old girl who was in the house at the time was unharmed and was later carried from the scene by a police officer.
