Third member of family charged in triple killing case

A THIRD member of the Thakrar family has been charged in connection with the Bishop's Stortford triple shooting last month.

Jay Thakrar, 24, of Lomond Way, Stevenage, is charged with assisting an offender and is due to appear before Stevenage Magistrates Court today.

Jay's father and brother have already appeared in court charged in connection with the deaths of father and son Keith Cowell, 52, and Matthew Cowell, 17, and Tony Dulieu, 33, from Billericay, at the Cowells family home in Plaw Hatch Close on Tuesday, August 28.

Kevan Thakrar, 20, also of Lomond Way, Stevenage, is charged with three counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder and a firearms offence.

Their father, Atul Thakrar, 46, whose address was given as Compton Place, Northwood, Middlesex, when they appeared by video link from prison at St Albans Crown Court last Friday, is charged with assisting an offender.

Amanda Dansie, 20, of High Street, Buntingford, also appeared in court last Friday charged with assisting an offender.

She was remanded in custody by Stevenage magistrates.

Another man who was arrested in Stevenage on August 30 has been bailed by police to report back to officers in October.
