DETECTIVES investigating the murder of three men at a house in Plaw Hatch Close, Bishop's Stortford, last August have charged a 20-year-old man from Enfield with assisting an offender.

Seven people have now been charged since Keith Cowell, 42, his son Matthewl, 17, and 33-year old Tony Dulieu, from Billericay, were gunned down on August 28.

Yilay Tufensoy, of Nags Head Road, Enfield, appeared before Stevenage magistrates yesterday when he was granted bail. However police authorities have confirmed they will be appealing against the decision with Mr Tufensoy being held in custody until a crown court hearing at St Albans today.

Miran Thakrar, 23, of no fixed abode, and his 20-year-old brother Kevan, of Lomond Way, Stevenage, are both charged with three counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. Kevan Thakrar also faces firearms charges.

Mr Tufensoy joins a third Thakrar brother, 24-year-old Jay, the brothers' father, Atul Thakrar, 46, also of Lomond Way, Stevenage, and Amanda Dansie, 20, of High Street, Buntingford, who are all charged with assisting an offender.

A man who has not been identified is charged with drug offences in connection with the case.

A police spokesman said a woman, in her 40s, who was arrested in London shortly after the shootings will not face further questioning and has been released from her police bail.

The trial of the Thakrars and Miss Dansie is expected to begin on June 4.
